Intercollege Transfer

The College of Liberal Arts & Sciences (LAS) welcomes interest from students currently enrolled at UIC who wish to transfer into LAS.

Minimum Requirements for Admission

  • 2.0 UIC term GPA*
  • 2.0 cumulative GPA*
  • One semester of UIC completed coursework
  • Adequate progress towards completion of degree

*Some majors require a different GPA for admission into the major. To review program-specific requirements, consult the LAS Departments sections on the left-hand side of the UIC Catalog.

Before Applying

  • Run a hypothetical degree audit for your major of interest to review the degree requirements and see how your completed/in-progress courses apply.

  • Review LAS Degree Requirements
  • View the updated New Student Academic Guide and the LAS Policies and Procedures.
  • Attend an optional online LAS ICT Information Session to meet with an LAS advisor.

Application Timeline (Summer2025 Admission):  

  • Application Deadline for Summer 2025 Admission: Friday, May 9th
  • All applications submitted through Friday, May 9th will be reviewed for Spring 2025 Admission
  • All applications will be reviewed after final grades post for the Spring 2025 term
  • Applicants will be notified of decision via their UIC email no later than Monday May 19th, 2025
  • Admission will be effective for Summer 2025; tuition and fees will be updated to reflect LAS differential if accepted
