| Every Friday beginning September 8th to October 20, from 9:30 – 10: 30 am | Drop-in hours for LAS departmental contacts preparing P&T packets. Please also feel free to contact Anne Eaton or Beth Allen with questions at any point. |
| August 31, 2023 | Notify the College of promotion and tenure cases and mid-probationary reviews in your unit. Submit (1) the P&T Expected Promotion and Tenure Cases Form; AND (2) the Expected Mid-Probationary Reviews Form. |
| August 31, 2023 (Part II) | Submit all Departmental Bylaws and Promotion & Tenure Norms/ Procedures, including those for Promotion to Senior Lecturer and for Mid-Probationary Reviews to LAS (Beth Allen). Please highlight any changes implemented since last year. If a special committee oversees the process, please indicate how its members are selected and provide the names of this year's members. |
| September 26, 2023 | Submit an electronic draft of the Promotion and Tenure Forms for all cases having tenure code T-6 or lower to the College/Departmental P&T Box folder for review, along with candidate referee lists. All cases must be complete, and the department must proofread all cases. Please contact Beth Allen, betha@uic.edu, with any questions or for information regarding access to the shared Box folder. |
| October 2, 2023 | Submit an electronic draft of the Promotion and Tenure Forms for all other cases to the College/Departmental P&T Box folder for review, along with candidate referee lists. | October 26, 2023 | Deadline for submitting revised final cases to LAS by uploading them to the College/Departmental P&T Box folder. Please also by this date, upload the PDF of the departmental checklist, and a PDF of an article or a chapter-length sample of the candidate’s work. (The writing sample is optional for Clinical cases.) |
| November 8 - December 4, 2023 | LAS P&T cases will be available for review by members of the LAS Executive Committee. |
| (TBD) November 28, 2023 | LAS Executive Committee meets to review all Clinical and Research cases. A schedule of the Executive Officers’ presentations will be distributed to the relevant Executive Officers. |
| (TBD) December 5 & December 6, 2023 (finals week) | LAS Executive Committee meets to review all tenure-track cases. A schedule of the Executive Officers’ presentations will be distributed to relevant Executive Officers. |
| February 1, 2024 | Final deadline for submitting Senior Lecturer promotion cases to LAS. For each case, please submit an electronic copy of the Promotion to Senior Lecturer form to the College/Departmental P&T Box folder for review. All cases must be complete, and the department must proofread all cases. Please contact Beth Allen, betha@uic.edu, if you are submitting a Promotion to Senior Lecture case, or if you have any questions about the process or access to the Box folder. |
| February 16, 2024 | Copies of all Senior Lecturer promotion cases will be available for review by members of the LAS Executive Committee. |
| March 7, 2024 | Draft of Mid-Probationary forms are due to LAS for College review through the College/Departmental P&T Box folder. Please contact Beth Allen, betha@uic.edu, if you are submitting a Mid-Probationary review, or if you have any questions about the process or access to the Box folder. |
| TBD- tentatively: March 12, 2024 | LAS Executive Committee meets to review Senior Lecturer promotion cases. |
| April 19, 2024 | Final signed electronic versions of Mid-Probationary reviews due to the College through the College/Departmental P&T Box folder. Please contact Beth Allen, betha@uic.edu, if you are submitting a Mid-Probationary review, or if you have any questions. |
| May 8, 2024 | Submit an Expected Cases form for planned 24-25 P&T cases to the College. |
