About

Casey Thayer is Director of Communication and Engagement for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. He holds a BA in English from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay and an MFA in poetry from Northern Michigan University. He is the author of Rational Anthem and Self Portrait with Spurs and Sulfur along with the chapbook Love for the Gun. He's won the Honoring Our Professors’ Excellence (HOPE) Award, the Gil Sedor Teaching Award, and the Arthur Kaplan Faculty Enhancement Award as well as numerous literary awards and fellowships, including a Wallace Stegner Fellowship from Stanford University. He's presented at regional and national conferences, including the Midwest-First Year Conference, the NACADA National Conference, and the Association of Writing and Writing Programs Annual Conference.
