About
Alexa Maseth is a Senior Academic Advisor for the Departments of Criminology, Law and Justice and Anthropology. She co-advises the Criminology, Law and Justice and Anthropology majors and minors as well as minors in Law and Society, Global Middle Eastern Studies and the Medical Humanities certificate.
With a decade of experience in higher education, including seven years in advising in LAS at UIC, Alexa is dedicated to supporting students in achieving their academic and professional goals. She understands the unique demands on her students’ plates with work, school and home-life and strives to aid in finding a balance in the pursuit of their goals. Her collaborative approach ensures students feel empowered, confident, and supported throughout their academic journey.
She is native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (Go Steelers!) and has called the Northwest-side of Chicago home for 13 years. Alexa earned her Master’s degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor’s degree in Advertising and Public Relations from Duquesne University.
Outside of advising, Alexa loves DIY home renovation, decorating, and creative projects. She enjoys outdoor adventures of any kind with her husband, two daughters and dog Buckeye.
