About
Shannon is a Senior Academic Advisor in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and advises undergraduate students who are pursuing a major or minor in psychology. She has been at UIC since 2006 and served as a general academic advisor in LAS for many years before her current role. She enjoys educating students about their major/minor requirements, nurturing their interest in psychology, and introducing them to tools and resources that can help lead to their success at UIC and beyond. She received a Master of Education in Higher Education from Loyola University Chicago and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Bradley University. Originally from a small town in East-Central Illinois, Shannon has called Chicago home since 2004. When she is not advising students, she can be found with binoculars scoping out migratory birds, taking in art or live music, spending quality time with her friends and cat, and fully appreciating the beauty of nature.
