UIC Professor and Head of Communication is Named Fellow of Communication Association
Zizi Papacharissi, professor and head of communication at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), was named fellow of the International Communication Association. Papacharissi was recognized for her study of human and mediated communication and contributions to the association. Her studies focus on the consequences of online media technologies. She is well known for her publication, “Affective Publics: Sentiment, Technology, and Politics", which earned the National Communication Association’s 2015 Human Communication and Technology Division Outstanding Book Award.
