UIC Distinguished Professor Roger Weissberg Quoted In Article About Social and Emotional Learning
Roger Weissberg, UIC distinguished professor of Psychology and Education, and NoVo Foundation Endowed Chair in Social and Emotional Learning, was recently quoted in a September 14, 2015 uexpress.com article entitled “Social and Emotional Skills Important for Students to Grasp.” The column, which profiles the “social and emotional” (SEL) learning programs that many school districts have adopted for the current academic year, quotes Weissberg as an expert on the topic:
" ‘Each district has their model of integrating the program with other priorities, so it's not an add-on,’ he explains, ‘but a way to strengthen things they're already doing.’ ”
Weissberg’s full comments, as well as the tools that he and his colleagues are helping bring to schools, can be found in the full article here.
