Rare Fossil Find Makes New York Times; EAES Professor Roy Plotnick Interviewed
Roy Plotnick, professor of earth and environmental science at UIC, is quoted in an article in the New York Times about a school of fish that has been perfectly preserved in rock. The fossil, discovered by an Arizona State University researcher, contains 259 fish of the extinct species Erismatopterus levatus. “Gee god, that’s an interesting specimen,” said Roy Plotnick, who was not a part of the study. “I’ve never seen this kind of preservation.” Read the full article here: https://nyti.ms/2JHhTTu
