A quote from Joel Brown, LAS professor of Biological Sciences, was recently featured in a September 30, 2015 article in The Chicago Tribune entitled “ ‘City Creatures’: Wildlife is Closer Than You Think,” written by Steve Johnson. The article discusses the intersections between urban environments and people’s general conceptions about what constitutes “nature,” and quotes Professor Brown about “the urban squirrel”:
“ ‘They can be clowns in your yard or nightmares in your attic,’ he writes,” in regards to Professor Brown.
