Dennis Rosenbaum, LAS professor of Criminal Justice and Psychology, was recently interviewed on the October 4, 2015 broadcast of FOX 32’s Sunday night news about the violence in Chicago, including how warm weather can play a role in increases in violence and retaliation, and how gangs can fill certain roles for disadvantaged people.
“It’s really not that complicated: the reality is that when the weather is warmer—and as you know, the month of September was unseasonably warm in Chicago—that’s when the violence kind of takes off.”
