Political Scientist Alexandra Filindra Quoted by the Chicago Tribune on the Rise of Gun Permit Applications amid the COVID-19 Pandemic and Post-George-Floyd Social Uprisings
The Chicago Tribune quotes Alexandra Filindra, UIC associate professor of political science, in an article on the rise of gun permit applications amid the COVID-19 pandemic and social uprisings following the death of George Floyd. “It’s not so much a security concern, though they may tend to want to misidentify it as fear,” said Filindra, who has studied gun policy opinions in the U.S. “But typically people who are highly anxious and afraid tend to be more supportive of gun control.”
