Political Science Alum Wins American Bar Association Scholarship for Law School

LAS Department of Political Science alumnus Jonathan Zarate (BA, 2013) is among the recipients of the 2014 American Bar Association (ABA) Legal Opportunity Scholarship, which grants financial assistance to incoming law students. Zarate is one of 20 law school students who will receive a total of $15,000 over the course of three years in law school.

Former ABA president, William G. Paul, initiated the scholarship to encourage racially and ethnically diverse students to apply to and attend law school. Since its inception, 200 students from across the country have received the ABA Legal Opportunity Scholarship.

Zarate is set to begin law school at the IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law.
