LAS students win prestigious awards to study language abroad
Congratulations to English students, Alicia Ribeiro and Kendal McGinnis for winning prestigious awards to study language abroad. Alicia Ribeiro, who is pursuing her BA in English, was awarded the Critical Language Scholarship from the U.S. State Department to study Korean at Busan National University in South Korea this summer. Kendal McGinnis, who is pursuing her MA in English, won the Critical Language Scholarship last year and spent the summer studying Russian in Tbilisi, Georgia. This year, McGinnis earned the David L. Boren Graduate Fellowship from the National Security Education Program to continue studying Russian in Latvia.
