LAS Associate Professor Natasha Barnes Interviewed on NPR’s “The Afternoon Shift”

During an interview on Chicago Public Radio's (WBEZ-FM/91.5) "The Afternoon Shift," Natasha Barnes, LAS associate professor of African American studies and English, discussed author Richard Wright's 1940 novel Native Son, which has been named as the September selection for the program's monthly book club. Barnes also talked about her experience teaching the book, which addresses race relations and social and economic inequalities in America, to UIC undergraduates and to incarcerated students at Stateville Correctional Center.
