LAS Associate Professor Amanda Lewis Featured in NEA Today Q&A

Amanda Lewis, LAS associate professor of African American Studies and Sociology, was recently featured in an October 21, 2015 Q&A with the National Education Association's website NEA Today in an article entitled “How Good Schools and Good Intentions Widen the Achievement Gap.” The article discusses Professor Lewis’s new book  “Despite the Best Intentions: How Racial Inequality Thrives in Good Schools” (co-authored with John B. Diamond from the University of Wisconsin), findings related to achievement gaps, and the role of educators in addressing the issue.
