Grant Empowers Math Teachers with Learning and Collaboration Opportunities
The University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) is launching a new initiative aimed at boosting math performance for elementary and middle school students. The Learning to Lead in Math project, funded by a $4.3 million U.S. Department of Education grant, will focus on helping K-8 teachers in Cook County enhance their math teaching skills. Led by Alison Castro Superfine, UIC’s Learning Sciences Research Institute will work closely with principals and educators to foster a collaborative teaching culture that promotes professional growth and effective math instruction.
