English Associate Professor Rachel Havrelock Awarded 2014 State Department Alumni Impact Award

English department associate professor Rachel Havrelock has been honored with an Alumni Impact Award from the Department of State’s Professional Fellows Program.  As part of her fellowship, Havrelock traveled to the River Jordan to observe how water sharing can be applied as a new approach to Middle East peacemaking.

The U.S. Department of State selects two foreign and two American alumni whose participation in the program contributed to their outstanding work in making a positive impact on their communities, countries, or regions. Selection of awardees will be based on how their participation in the program enabled them to make a long-term positive impact on their home country.
