Barbara Ransby Listed as Among Most Influential Feminist Public Intellectuals In RSN Article About Black Lives Matter Movement

The work of Barbara Ransby, professor in the Black Studies, History, and Gender and Women’s Studies departments, and director of the UIC Social Justice Initiative, was cited in an RSN article entitled “The 30-Year-Old Radical Black Queer Feminist Who’s Rahm Emanuel’s Worst Nightmare.” The article makes a case that the work of Ransby, along with other esteemed feminist public intellectuals, have been the “matriarchs” leading the way on a number of recent high-profile black rights movements.
