Foreman Bandama, Anthropology/Archaeology Lecturer, and his research team secured a $1.2 million USD grant from the research council of Norway, Forskningsradet, to study precolonial African pyrotechnical innovations during turbulent times across Zambia, Zimbabwe, and South Africa. The project, entitled "ARCREATE, An Archaeology of Creative Knowledge in Turbulent Times," seeks to understand how ceramics, metal, and glass bead production metamorphosed in the time of social transformation, political conflict, and rapid relocation.
