Shakar Wins Critical Acclaim for Novel
Alex Shakar, a 2002 LAS doctoral alumnus and current associate professor of English at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, has won critical acclaim for his second novel, Luminarium. Published in 2011, the book has garnered a number of accolades, including the prestigious Los Angeles Times Book Prize.
