Robert Kaestner Quoted in Medill Reports Chicago Article
Robert Kaestner, professor in the Department of Economics, director of graduate studies, and head of the Institute of Government and Public Affairs (IGPA), was quoted in a Medill Reports Chicago article entitled “U.S. Jobless Claims Down, Trend Expected To Continue,” which discusses a Department of Labor report showing stability in the United States labor market.
“Corporate earnings seem to be fine,” Kaestner said. “People are nervous because of what’s going on in the stock markets and the volatility there but that doesn’t mean that the economy is getting a cold or going to get sick.”
