María de Los Angeles Torres receives the 2023-24 UIC Distinguished Professor
We are thrilled to congratulate LALS Professor Maria de los Angeles Torres for her tremendous achievement of receiving the 2023-2024 UIC Distinguished Professor award! Professor Torres has been pioneering research on Latin American and Latino Studies, including topics of Cuban exile politics, unaccompanied minors, youth civic participation, and democracy, and has been a tireless advocate for improving society.
