Robert D. Johnston Quoted in MPR News Article About Progressivism

Robert D. Johnston, professor in the Department of History at UIC and the Director of the Teaching of History Program, was quoted in a MPR News article entitled “Then and Now: What Does it Mean to be a Progressive?” The article discusses the current battle between Democratic candidates Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton over the right to define the term “progressive,” which does not necessarily have a clear definition.

" ‘Progressivism, progressive — those are all terms that nobody knows quite what they mean because they mean different things to different people,’ says Robert Johnston, a history professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago who specializes in the Progressive Era.”
