Warpeha Awarded UIC Proof-of-Concept Gap Funding Grant
Biological Sciences Professor Katherine Warpeha was one of four UIC researchers to be awarded the first UIC proof-of-concept gap funding grants, designed to help UIC faculty transition their inventions from the laboratory to the marketplace. Warpeha will use the funding to capitalize on a discovery by her laboratory to genetically modify food crops to better tolerate environmental stresses. The award was announced in a UIC News Bureau Press Release.
