Stansky Book Prize Awarded to Historian Jonathan Connolly

Congratulations to historian Jonathan Connolly 🎉 His book, "Worthy of Freedom: Indenture and Free Labor in the Era of Emancipation," has been awarded the Stansky Book Prize by the North American Conference on British Studies.

This award recognizes Connolly’s powerful exploration of how indenture transformed the meaning of “freedom” in a post-abolition world—challenging conventional narratives of emancipation.
