Psychology AP Matt Motyl Talks Political Angst during the Midterm Election on the Chicago Tribune

Matt Motyl, UIC assistant professor of psychology, is quoted in a Chicago Tribune story on the strong emotions and stress voters are feeling during the current political climate. Motyl says anger can be often be a short-lived motivator, but the strong level of emotions felt by voters can be more sustained as a result of media coverage, social media, and when people break moral norms. (subscription may be required)
