Mathematics AP Ian Tobasco’s research in wrinkle ripple mathematics featured in New Scientist and Phys.org
#UICLAS Assistant Professor of Mathematics, Ian Tobasco, and a research team were featured in New Scientist and Phys.org for examining the complex geometry in how thin curved shapes wrinkle when flattened. The researchers also found they could predict where wrinkles would form by splitting the shape into smaller sub-shapes.
