Maria Krysan Receives NSA Funding for Neighborhood Study
Professor of Sociology Maria Krysan is the principle investigator of a new National Science Foundation project entitled "Collaborative Research: Neighborhood Knowledge, Selection, and Segregation." Along with collaborators Kyle Crowder (University of Washington) and Michael Bader (American University), she will be developing a new survey-based tool combining mapping technology, tablets, and computer assisted interviewing techniques that can be used to measure people's knowledge, experiences, and perceptions of communities in the Chicago metropolitan area.
