Maria de los Angeles Torres Tells Her Story for PBS Series ” Latino Americans”
Maria de los Angeles Torres, UIC professor of Latin American and Latino studies, was featured on PBS' documentary series "Latino Americans." Torres appeared on the third and fourth episodes of the six-part series that was aired on WTTW-TV (Channel 11) on Sept. 24. During episode four titled 'The New Latinos (1946-1965)," the Cuban-born Torres discussed her experience of coming to the U.S. at the age of six without her parents via Operation Pedro Pan.
