LAS Mid-Career Award Recipients Announced

The 2014-15 award recipients for the LAS Mid-Career Award have been announced. This year, Associate Professor Javier Villa-Flores, Latin American and Latino Studies; Associate Professor Jennifer Schmidt, biological sciences; and Associate Professor Sloan Williams, anthropology; are receiving this honor.

The LAS Mid-Career Award, open to tenured associate professors, recognizes up to three individuals each year, one from each of the Humanities, Social Sciences, and Natural Sciences divisions. Award recipients receive funds for a 9-month, 50% research assistant for one year, or equivalent research funds, and a one-year “service sabbatical” during which the recipient is released from service obligations.
