Jones Named to the International Communication Association
Steve Jones, UIC distinguished professor of communication, was one of six new fellows named to the International Communication Association at its 2012 annual conference this month. Fellow status in the association recognizes “distinguished scholarly contributions to the broad field of communication.”
Jones is a social historian of communication technology with a recent focus on cultural changes taking place through new media and the Internet. He is co-founder of the Association of Internet Researchers and co-editor of the journal New Media & Society.
Jones has authored, edited or co-edited 10 books and 150 chapters, articles and essays.
