Islam Reported to be Fastest Growing Religious Group in Illinois
Stephen Warner, professor emeritus in the sociology department, was quoted in a Chicago Tribune article this spring about a new census of American religious congregations that indicates Muslims have become the third-largest, and fastest-growing, religious group in Illinois after Roman Catholics and independent evangelicals.
