David Merriman, professor of economics and public administration and associate director of the Institute for Government and Public Affairs, appeared on WTTW 11's "Chicago Tonight" and ABC7 to discuss the government shutdown and the debt-ceiling debate. Watch "Chicago Tonight" segment.
Merriman also is scheduled to appear on FOX 32's 9 p.m. newscast in a report on the reasons why Illinois has the Midwest's highest unemployment rate at 9.2 percent.
