Asian Archaeology Visiting Scholar, Fall 2013

The Anthropology Department has a Visiting Scholar in Asian
archaeology, Putsadee Rodcharoen, for the Fall 2013. Ms. Rodcharoen is a Ph.D. candidate and Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Archaeology at
Silpakorn University in Bangkok, Thailand. She will be completing her
dissertation writing while in residence at UIC, with a thesis on glass
production and trade between India, China and Southeast Asia in the late
first millennium B.C. to mid-second millennium A.D. She will also be
carrying out chemical analysis of some archaeological samples of Thai
glass beads at the Field Museum Materials Laboratory.
