Listen to brief speakers from the Wikimedia Foundation and the Wiki Education Foundation about how they are battling legal challenges around the world, influencing information policy, combating disinformation, combating systemic bias, increasing representation, and highlighting opportunities and challenges for researchers and instructors.

Costanza Sciubba Caniglia, Anti-Disinformation Strategy Lead, Wikimedia Foundation
Costanza Sciubba Caniglia is a public policy expert and a researcher working on disinformation studies. Her research focuses on state-sponsored coordinated information operations and propaganda.
Costanza is the lead for Wikipedia's anti-disinformation strategy at the Wikimedia Foundation. In addition, she writes and consults on disinformation and international relations, including as an Election Observer. She previously worked extensively in journalism and public information at the United Nations in New York, including as a spokesperson for Italy on the U.N. Security Council and U.N. Public Information officer.
Stan Adams, Lead Public Policy Specialist, Wikimedia Foundation
Stan Adams is the Wikimedia Foundation's Lead Public Policy Specialist for North America. He works to protect the Wikimedia model from harmful policies, and advocates for laws and policies to help projects like Wikipedia thrive.
Stan has spent nearly a decade working on tech policy issues including digital copyright, free expression, privacy, and AI. Prior to his role at the Wikimedia Foundation, Stan served as a general counsel to a US Senator and as a deputy general counsel at the Center for Democracy & Technology.
Frank Schulenburg, Executive Director, Wiki Education Foundation
Frank Schulenburg serves as Executive Director of Wiki Education, a nonprofit organization focused on enhancing student learning and improving Wikipedia’s coverage of topics relevant to the public interest. Before joining Wiki Education, he led global initiatives at the Wikimedia Foundation to improve Wikipedia’s quality and expand access to free knowledge in the Global South.
Wiki Education helps university instructors integrate Wikipedia assignments into their teaching. In addition to supporting student contributions, it offers professional development through its Scholars & Scientists Program, equipping academics, scientists, and professionals with the skills to contribute their expertise to Wikipedia and Wikidata.
