Summer 2025 LAS Academic Advising Online Drop-in Availability
Introduction
The LAS Academic Advising Center has select availability for Online Drop-in Advising during the Summer 2025 semester*.
Online Drop-in Advising will be available for LAS General Advisors only. LAS Major/Departmental advisors do not have Drop-in Advising during the summer. Please note that drop-in advising sessions are restricted to 10-15 minutes and are designed for quick questions. Please read below to learn more about how to sign-up for online drop-in advising as well as dates/times of drop-in availability.

General Drop-in Instructions
Online drop-in advising sessions allow students to meet with an LAS General Academic Advisor for quick, 10-15 minute registration-related concerns.
Plan Ahead!
- The estimated wait time for online LAS General Drop-In Advising is 2-29 minutes.
- Wait times may increase during peak periods (Weeks 1 & 2 of fall/spring semester, peak registration season, and during Week 10 of fall/spring semesters). Please plan accordingly.
- After signing in online, you will be contacted via your UIC email with a link to join a virtual meeting once an advisor is available to meet with you.
- You have the option to call in with a phone but please use a device with microphone, camera, and speakers, if you have access, to be able to review your audit or other materials.
- If you have not joined the meeting within 5 minutes of your meeting beginning, you will be removed from the waiting room and will need to check-in again to be re-added to the waiting room.

Hours for General Advising
LAS General Online Drop-In Advising is available only during select dates during Summer 2025:
- Monday, May 19 – Wednesday, May 21
- Wednesday, June 4
- Wednesday, June 18
- Friday, June 20
- Thursday, July 17
- Friday, July 18
- Wednesday, August 6
All online drop-ins will take place during the hours of 8:30am-12pm and 1pm-4:30pm.

- Sign in to virtual waiting room using iAdvise.
Note: Sign-in only available 8:15am-11:30am and 12:45pm-4pm - Select ‘JOIN WAITING ROOM’ in ‘Advising for LAS Drop-In [with your assigned LAS Advisor]’.
Note: If you do not have an assigned advisor, select ‘JOIN WAITING ROOM’ in ‘LAS Drop-in Advising for Unassigned Student’ (services are sorted in alphabetical order). - Select ‘LAS Drop-In Advising with Assigned Advisor: [will display your primary advisor]’ and ‘CONTINUE’.
- Give a description of primary purpose of advising visit. Select ‘SUBMIT’.
- Once you reach this screen, you are checked in for drop-in advising. Please open your UIC email and wait to be contacted by an LAS general academic advisor (refresh your email regularly). You will have five minutes to log-in once you receive the invite email.
