A Smithsonian Magazine blog reports on “Surviving and Thriving: AIDS, Politics and Culture,” the National Library of Medicine’s traveling exhibit curated by Jennifer Brier, UIC associate professor of gender and women’s studies and history, and director of gender and women’s studies. The exhibit explores the rise of AIDS in the early 1980s and the response to the epidemic over the last three decades.  Read more here.
