Quotes from Teresa Cordova, LAS professor in the Department of Sociology, were featured in a Chicago Tribune editorial article entitled “When Chicagoans Don’t Trust the Police, the City Suffers.” The article makes the case that a citizenry fully trusting its police officers is “ground zero” for a healthy society, and that if the opposite is the case, fear, anger, and crime rise.
