Extreme Heat Affecting Daytime Animals

Joe Brown, a professor of biological sciences, was quoted in a Sun-Times article regarding the low number of squirrels this summer in proportion to recent years. Brown commented that the low squirrel population is likely due to the year's mild winter and the extreme heat, which places enormous environmental stress on daytime-active animals like squirrels.
