An article in Crain's Chicago Business on the contribution research makes to the economy features EPIR Technologies Inc., a Bolingbrook-based company founded by Siva Sivananthan, professor of physics at UIC.  The article states, in part, that "Illinois [has] a real competitive edge in attracting and expanding tech-based companies —from Fortune 100 powerhouses like Boeing Co. to newer firms like Bolingbrook-based EPIR Technologies Inc., which has tripled its workforce to 60 employees over the past three years, thanks to its breakthrough successes in infrared imaging technologies."

The full article, authored by the director of Argonne National Laboratories and the CEO of the Illinois Science and Technology Coalition in Chicago, can be read right here.
