Retroactive Credits in Foreign Language

Students who have placed into the 104 or higher level of a foreign language taught at UIC as the result of a UIC-administered placement test may receive academic proficiency credit for prerequisite coursework. The complete policy is available in the UIC Undergraduate Catalog. Students who meet all requirements and earn an A or B in the course in which they have placed may initiate the request for retroactive foreign language credits through an LAS academic advisor.
