Interdisciplinary

About Interdisciplinary Programs... Heading link

The world is evolving at a rapid rate, requiring more collaboration and creativity.  As the boundaries between academic areas fade, interdisciplinary research and education become even more important for bringing about positive social changes such as improving public health, building stronger communities, and creating a more sustainable environment.

Several LAS offerings span more than one academic department allowing students to learn and work in collaborative ways across fields and disciplines. Our areas of interdisciplinary study prepare students for the global job market and emphasize the connection between the humanities, health and science, social science research, and education.

*Assessed a differential tuition in addition to base tuition. In these majors or specialized curricula, including pre-curriculum in pre-integrated health studies and pre-neuroscience, the cost of instruction and the teaching facilities are more expensive than in other disciplines. The income from differential tuition is strictly committed to improving teaching laboratories, and related equipment, and attracting high-quality teaching faculty who are leaders in their fields and require funds to establish their laboratories.
